From the “Politician of the Year” to “Rookie of the Year”—the WASPYS will highlight excellence, accountability, and that unbreakable West Virginian spirit. Created by the passionate team at @wvwasp (West Virginia WASP), this inaugural program aims to bridge the gap between the public and our elected officials, and showing a fun side of politics in West Virginia.
“We’re not just handing out awards, we are bringing light-hearted moments to our citizens and political leaders,” says the founder. “The WASP is known for its hard-hitting reporting and its stinging satire. Now, it’s time to recognize the people in our statehouse who are making real differences.” And here’s the best part: YOU get to be part of the action! Nominations are now open to all West Virginians.
